INSIDE THIS POST
Every season ends the same way. The sell-through report comes out, the team reads it, and the lessons live in a few people's heads until the next buy. Season Hindsight is the report read properly: the season as it actually sold, style by style, with the reasons next to the numbers.
Lost sales, counted
A style that sold out in week eight looks perfect on the report. It sold through, it held price, nobody argues. What the report does not show is the weeks it sat empty while customers asked for it. Hindsight puts an estimate of those lost sales beside every sold-out style, so the most expensive lie on the report stops looking like a success.
Markdown erosion
The markdown that cleared the stock also took the margin. Hindsight follows each style from full price to its last markdown and shows where the margin went, week by week. The question changes from how much did we clear to when did we start giving it away.
The size curve
Stock that is deep in the middle sizes and gone at both ends is a buy decision, not a trading one. Hindsight reads the size curve back as it sold, so the next buy starts from what the customer took and not from the last plan.
Every number in Hindsight traces back to the season data that produced it. Nobody has to trust the summary, and next season starts from evidence.
